Before the Storm

Acrylic on Gallery Canvas

40" x 30"

In private collection

This painting was originally inspired by massive clouds developing along the highway south of Calgary, Alberta on the day before the 2013 flood. Over the years, the mood of the painting changed. The sliver of blue sky just above the horizon suggests that a storm is not inevitable across the entire landscape. There is a choice on the route of the highway.
